Ten Years of Missing You

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone.

A part of us went with you, the day God took you home.

They say that memories are golden, well maybe that is true,

But we never wanted memories, we only wanted you.

We sat around your beside, our hearts were crushed and sore,

We did our duty to the end, ‘til we could do no more.

In tears we watched you sinking, we watched you fade away,

Though our hearts were breaking, we knew you couldn’t stay.

And though we cannot see you, we know your at our side.

Ten years and we still mourn you, our tears we cannot hide.

Your death has left us heartache, that nobody can heal.

We keep you in our memory, which nobody can steal.

Your life was love and labour, your love for family true,

You did your best for all of us, we’ll always remember you.
