Hello All,

It's Colleen & Mom here with the latest update on Donna.

Today she had a laporoscopy and a gastroscopy.

They found that the cancer is ovarian and quite advanced. It seems to have started in her right ovary. The cancer is not in her stomach but more around it.

They took numerous biopsies and removed the mass around her naval. It is hoped that we will have the results of these biopsies within 3-4 days, but it may be longer.

After the biopsies come back treatment will be decided. It may be surgery to remove all they cancer followed by chemo then another surgery, or it may be chemo to shrink what they can followed by surgery.

She has stayed in the hospital overnight. She had a rough time after the sugery. The morphine has really seemed to hit her, at times making her nauseous. Darren will pick her up and bring her home in the morning.

Your thought and prayers are much appreciated...please keep them coming.

Thanks for all the expressions of support, the calls, flowers, shoulders to cry on, hugs and prayers. We all appreciate your overwhelming support during these difficult times. Continue to pray!

Donna, I heard about your blog from Aunt Lorraine today. Did a search and whala, here it is.

It is comforting to read this and follow you through. Everyone is talking about it and praying for you and your family.

If you ever need anything please let us know, you have lots of family and friends.

I will keep up to date now that I know where this is at.

God Bless you, you are in our prayers.

Donna,
The blog site was actually blocked at work but I got an exception made so that I can check in with all of you. News from mom and colleen seems to be on the positive that there is light appearing at the other end.

Just wanted to drop a quick note tonight to let you know I found the site and that I am thinking of you LOTS!!!!!!

Darren and Donna (and of course little Junell).... if you need anything I am not far away!!

Love you lots!

Hi Donna,

Ed and I are still trying to get over our colds. We will visit when we're better. We want to make sure you don't get sick so that you can start chemo as soon as they schedule you. I know that the oncologist said I wouldn't get my treatments on time if I was sick because my immune system would be compromised and chemo is hard on the immune system.

Thanks for telling us on the blog that they will be praying for you at St. Augustine's. I'm going home this weekend and will go to mass on Saturday in Humboldt to pray for you with the church.

You are in our daily prayers. We love you. When you need to talk to someone who'd been there and understands the pain and nausea - call. I'm here for you 24/7. No time is too early or too late.

I love you Donna.

If there is anything that I can help with - please do not hesitate to call me. Colleen and Lee are aware that my home is always open to Family - that includes you - If you need to come to Edmonton - you are welcome to stay. I am very aware of the Cross Cancer Institute as I go there with my Donny. Please know we are not giving up either! With much love and support, Noella (Mavis) Dufort-Jamieson. (Lee's Big Sister)
